Food Truckin It!

1st Annual Frisco StrEATs Festival

On Thursday I received an email from the chamber that mentioned activities this weekend in the community.  Of course when I read there was going to be a food truck festival, I was sold! We invited some new friends to come with us and we were off to eat our hearts out!  Let's just say the word spread quickly of this foodie event. There were swarms of people there to get their chance at all the tasty bites.

We decided to divide and conquer - the guys went in search of their foodie destiny and we (the girls) patiently waited in line for ssahmBBQAfter our hour plus wait, our foodie destiny finally arrived - the kimchee fries were AMAZING!

Seriously. The. Best. Thing. EVER.

Now that I'm out of my food coma, I should probably think about a serious detox.  Although my mind is still on those fries....

All in all it was a good food and good company, it doesn't get much better than that!

Oh it is a lovely life after all....

You know its a good week when your Monday starts off with a great lunch on the patio on such a beautiful day!  For that one hour of my day I almost felt as if I was on a beach vacation, which I admit I am in desperate need of!  The only thing that was missing was the beach and a fancy cocktail with a cute colorful umbrella, but a girl can dream right?!

Home front update:  The design center was fantastic!  There were many choices to be made and I definitely feel better having a vision of what our home will look like.  Towards the end of the session I did become a little overwhelmed with the tiles, carpet, paint, granite, and wood samples but I pulled out of it and powered on!  I am not going to say what colors or choices that were decided upon.  You will just have to keep coming back to see when the final pictures are posted!

Enjoy the rest of this beautiful weekend!

Home front update!

Exciting news....the construction has begun!  We no longer are looking at just a pile a dirt, as of Thursday the footings have been put in place to outline where the foundation will go.  The plumbing has started to go in as well, hopefully they will pour the foundation in the next week or so.  Now for the important details, the design center called and I am scheduled to go next week to pick out all of the finish out fixtures.  Bring on the samples: paint, flooring, granite, lighting, and more. Heaven.
Our pile of dirt aka our future home
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

As always your comments/thoughts are welcomed.

Week of Roadtrips

It has been a pretty busy week, it's Friday night and I'm exhausted!  I have had my fair share of driving this week as well.  Here is a little recap for you:  Saturday Dallas to OKC, Monday OKC to Springfield Missouri and back to OKC, Wednesday OKC back to Dallas.  Through all this driving I did discover that I have a great appreciation for the spring season!  The sides of the highway were scattered with pretty wildflowers and everything was green and blooming, I even got a glimpse of a rainbow.

On another note, there isn't much to report on the house this week.  We did have the privilege of picking where we wanted all the outlets and cable hook ups.  Exciting details I know! :)  My parents are coming to visit this weekend for Easter and we will also show them where our future home will be.  There still isn't much for them to see as it's just a pile of dirt for now!

Happy Easter!

As always I welcome your thoughts and comments.

April Fool's Day

Happy April Fool's Day!

I love this day as it usually means that you have a little fun and play pranks on friends and family!  It has actually been a few years since I have actually engaged in this particular holiday's festivities.  A few years back I worked with a group of individuals that were regular pranksters.  When April Fool's Day would come around it was like everyone brought out their prized prank!  On one occasion a co-worker put dirt in another co-workers ground coffee, they went through whole process that morning of making their pot of coffee and getting their morning cup.  As the first sip was taken it was almost immediately followed by gaging and coughing.  This of course could only mean one thing.....WAR!  For about a week these two individuals went back and forth playing various pranks on each other, it was quite entertaining.  Oh the memories and fun times!

As always, I welcome your comments and/or thoughts.
